So I caught a 9:15pm showing of Skyfall at Studio Movie Grill last night, and I can confirm that 94% on rottentomatoes is deserved. Far and away my favorite of the Craig Bonds, and probably my favorite Bond movie.
Of course, to put that in context, I like and grew up with Pierce Brosnan, get bored by Casino Royale, liked and preferred Quantam of Solace, and have never actually seen in full a Connery, Moore, Dalton, or even Lasenby portrayal of Bond. So if you want to take my endorsement with grain of salt, feel free.
I still think Bardem's portrayal of the villain, the neat little references to old Bonds, amazing set pieces and the focus on character were an amazing spectacle. And my burger was good too, I just wish they'd remembered to nix the pickles and add mayo as I asked. Fries were still delicious, so forgiveness is granted. Just wish I didn't have to scrape pickles off and ask for mayo.
Oh, and Adele's song is great.
In other news, I want to get back to my Gaming Timeline series, and chronologically, PC, Arcade, and SNES kind of all run together, but I want to focus on SNES first and possibly inbetween PC and Arcade. Why? Because while I played a lot of arcades and a few PC games with my mom being a computer teacher as a kid, I have tons of SNES memories. So many in fact, they couldn't possibly fit in one blog.
So what I'll do is split it up into a few parts, with PC and Arcade blogs to fill the gaps between some of the SNES blogs. In the meantime, I've compiled a list for myself based on wikipedia's list of SNES games. It is missing a couple games I remember, but most of what I remember playing is all here. Bolded titles are ones I definitely remember playing, otherwise I vaguely remember something about the game or think I've played it, but am not sure.
