Totally Innocuous Update Hail Satan Dec 23, 2012 12:54AM PST

WARNING: DO NOT use kunaki.com to order DVDs. My REPLACEMENT COPY of The Cinema Snob Movie I ordered on Black Friday initially also doesn't work. I have two boxes with useless DVDs. Great. Now I have to send ANOTHER e-mail.
Currently watching Rock of Ages from Red Box. I rented it cause I remembered how much I liked goofy 80s music. I'm starting to regret it, cause I forgot how much I hate Glee. I mean some of the jokes are ok, and it looks really cool, but every time they sing I have the same reaction as when Glee covered Journey: it just sounds like a boring, soulless version of a great song.
No offense to Glee fans, I've dated a few, and they've done a couple good covers, but it's just not for me. Not that Glee cast had anything to do with it that I know of, but it sounds similar to their style. But hey it has Bryan Cranston as a mayor, Paul Giomatti as an agent, Alec Baldwin as a bar owner, Catherine Zeta Jones as Tipper Gore, and Russel Brand was just playing Donkey Kong, so that's... wasted on this movie.
Oh by the way, I have the list of my top 12 favorite movies of 2012 ready to go, and there actually is a musical pretty high on it (hint: not Rock of Ages most likely, though "Hit me with your best shot" is what they're doing now, and I actually like this scene so far). I'm saving it so I can see how I feel about Django, Zero Dark Thirty, Hobbit, and Les Mis and see if they make it on my list somewhere.
Aboboisdaman will be happy to know I dl'd Street Fighter X Mega Man, the free download game from capcom-unity.com. I like what I've been able to play when it hasn't gotten super laggy on my PC. If nothing else, you know the music is top notch, since it's mixing two of the most memorable gaming franchises for music. Have so far only played Blanka's stage and got killed by lag messing up my jumps. I'll see if my PC acts nicer and maybe do a reviewof it of I can beat the Street Fighters.
Also planning on doing a top 12 gifts of Christmas Past blog.
So there you go.
